Broadband has a vital role to play in helping people in regional Australia
gain access to the same range, level and quality of services as their city
counterparts.
Such access, however, can be limited by a lack of relevant information
about the supply and benefits of broadband services in regional Australia.
To help overcome this information gap, Broadband Xchange has set up a
regional broadband portal as a single, trusted, authoritative and
independent website that is an on-line ‘one-stop shop’ that you can visit
to find out about:
- the general benefits of broadband that are being experienced in regional
Australia;
- what government grants and
other schemes are available to help you gain
access to broadband services;
- what strategies are available to you for improving your access to
broadband services;
- your region’s possible inclusion in the ATUG/SPAN/SETEL
Broadband
Roadshow program that is being established to inform regional
communities about broadband services and to assist them to increase their
uptake of broadband services; and
- who supplies broadband related goods and services in your region.
This site will be progressively updated as more information becomes
available about the various government initiatives, local ICT suppliers
and the roll-out of broadband infrastructure in regional Australia.
